You've probably guessed by now that we are huge fans of advent calendars and over the next few weeks we will be posting a few of our favs from the huge variety available for tweens, teens and adults. However, last year we decided to create our very own Advent Calendar for a friend, so we thought we would repost the Ruby and Pearl Advent Calendar for anyone who missed it the first time.
We discovered this gorgeous North Pole Box at Kmart ( they usually have something similar to this most years) and we both agreed it would make a very cute Advent box. We added some shredded pearlized paper, then filled with small gifts wrapped in brown paper which we numbered 1 - 24. Bright red string was added to each parcel for a decorative festive finish.
We chose a 24 day calendar for this project, but a 12 day option would be great to.
Shopping for the small treasures was great fun. Gifts in our Advent Calendar ranged from $1.00 - $24.00.
The $24.00 surprise was a special gift for Christmas Eve.
